Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms with Ausburg ace Abdul Baba Rahman, according to reports from the Express.
Rahman has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after the expected sale of Filipe Luis back to Atletico Madrid, with Blues manager Jose Mourinho seeing the Ghana international as the perfect replacement.
However, it seemed that the Premier League champions had to look elsewhere after Ausburg chairman Jonas Hoffman declared that the defender will not be sold this summer.
He said: “We do not need the Baba millions.
“We have a good, solid team here.
“I am very optimistic that Baba will continue his great performances with us.”
But despite the ‘hands-off’ warning, sources suggest that Chelsea and Rahman have come to an agreement in regards to his salary at Stamford Bridge, which is believed to be £27,000-a-week.
Now the Blues will need to negotiate a transfer fee with the Bundesliga side, who are demanding at least £14million for the 21-year-old.
The left-back had a brilliant campaign in the German top flight, making 31 appearances and supplying five assists.
