Chelsea and Man City managerial target on verge of Bundesliga stay

Chelsea and Manchester City have been alerted by speculation that Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola is close to signing a new deal with the club, Express reports.

The former Barcelona manager left the La Liga champions following the 2011-2012 campaign and took a year off to rest before eventually returning to management.

He has been linked with a number of Premier League sides ever since the summer, with City believed to be very keen on his services.

Current boss Manuel Pellegrini has been criticised on more than one occasion over his inability to lead the squad into the latter stages of the Champions League, with Guardiola eyed as a possible replacement.

The Blues were also linked with a move for the Spaniard in recent months after manager Jose Mourinho picked up a number of disappointing results.

His side are currently sitting 15th on the Premier League table as they have already registered seven losses from their previous 13 matches in the competition.
