Chelsea and Manchester City are ready to go head-to-head in their chase to sign Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann in the January window, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old has emerged as a top attacking target for a host of clubs this season despite only joining the La Liga giants in the summer of 2014 for around the £24million region.
However, Atletico are now said to be valuing the forward at around the £31.5million region as the two Premier League giants look to acquire his services at the turn of the year.
Blues boss Jose Mourinho is keen to reinforce his attack in the winter window given that his side have already lost seven league matches this season.
They are currently sitting 15th on the table, a position that is well below par as a number of January changes are expected to be made in order to get out of their recent slump.
City are also keen on more additions following injuries to striking pair Sergio Aguero and Wilfried Bony as they recently suffered a devastating 4-1 home defeat to Liverpool this past weekend.
