Chelsea and Manchester United target Oscar de Marcos has revealed that he will not leave Athletic Bilbao, The Sun reports.
The 26-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for both clubs in recent months, but he is now expected to continue his stay in the La Liga.
He is being seen as the ideal replacement for former midfielder Ramires, who completed a £25million move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning back in January.
United are also hoping to bring in the versatile midfielder amid speculation that Ander Herrera could leave for Atletico Madrid or Juventus.
De Marcos has come out to confirm that he has no intentions of leaving Bilbao while also adding that he is ready to retire with his current side.
“The news has passed me by, but nobody has told me anything,” he said.
“If it’s true, it is because I’m doing things right with Athletic. More importantly, I don’t let it worry me.
“Today I think my future is at Athletic and I’ll finish my career here. I only see here.”
Both Premier League giants were prepared to table an offer around the £20million region, but based on the player’s latest revelations, any incoming bids could be rejected.
He has already featured 46 times in all competitions for his side this term, so far managing to score two goals while providing another five assists.
