Chelsea and Manchester United target Mauro Icardi has signed a new four-year deal with Inter Milan, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old was one of the standout performers for the club despite their average campaign which saw them finish eight in the Serie A.
After missing out on a Champions League spot, the Blues as well as United were hoping to convince the attacker to complete a move to join them.
However, the Argentine striker, who is already being compared to fellow countryman Sergio Aguero of Manchester City, has confirmed that his future lies with Inter.
“All players want to be in the Champions League, but I’m happy here at Inter,” he said.
“I hope I can qualify for that competition next year with a great Nerazzurri side.”
He managed to score 24 goals from a total of 46 matches in all competitions this term and his decision to remain at the club will be a huge boost to manager Roberto Mancini.
Both Premier League giants are keen on reinforcing their frontline next season, with Chelsea looking to replace Didier Drogba while United are moving on from Radamel Falcao, who has now returned to Monaco following his loan spell.
