Real Madrid midfielder Mesut Ozil is hopeful of securing a summer switch away from the Spanish capital this summer, according to German paper Bild.
Ozil is not happy at the number of players at the club who play in a similar position to him with Spaniard Isco already settled in at the Bernabeu and Spurs winger Gareth Bale close to completing his move to La Liga.
The German international is fearful that his place in the national side is at risk if he stays in Madrid and with it being a World Cup year, the 24 year old is desperate for regular first team football.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bring the playmaker to West London but the signing of Brazilian Willian could prevent that deal from happening unless Juan Mata leaves Stamford Bridge in the coming days.
Manchester United boss has made no secret of his attempts to bring in a creative midfielder but he now has competition from German club Borussia Dortmund who have entered the race for Ozil.
