Chelsea and Real Madrid rejected in chase to sign Croatian midfielder

Chelsea and Real Madrid have been denied a chance to sign Dinamo Zagreb ace Ante Coric after he refused an exit, Express reports.

The 18-year-old is currently regarded as one of the biggest talents in European football after catching the eye of the two European giants.

He is also the youngest player to score in the Europa League after he managed to register a goal against Astra Giurgiu when he was 17 years and 157 days.

Coric was linked with an exit after he revealed his desire to leave in search for more playing time, but later decided to remain with Dinamo.

“I am very happy that Chelsea and Real Madrid want me but I know I wouldn’t play there,” he said.

“They would send me out on loan, perhaps to a lesser club or a lesser league.

“So I know staying is the best decision.”

The Croatian midfielder is currently valued at around the £8million region and is now expected to stay especially with his club agreeing to hand him a bigger role at the club.

He has already featured 25 times in all competitions for his side this term, scoring two goals while providing another four assists so far.
