Chelsea attacker Andre Schurrle believes that Arsenal star Mesut Ozil will thrive under the pressure he is receiving from critics, Mirror reports.
The Blues face Arsenal in this weekend’s big Premier League clash and Schurrle reckons that the criticism will spur his Germany team-mate to a big performance for the Gunners.
“Mesut is a player who needs the pressure a little bit. He needs the pressure to perform,” he said.
“He is a great player. He is everything that you need in his position when he plays no.10. He can play the pass and he can score.
“So I think when you give him a little bit of time he will show you that he is a world class player. Of course, for the national team it is good to have Mesut Ozil in good form.
“On Sunday, however, it would be good if he didn’t have that good form against us!”
Chelsea currently sit on top of the Premier League table with 16 points form a possible 18, while Arsenal are at fourth – six points behind the leaders.
