Chelsea have been hit with a transfer blow after Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann confirmed his desire to remain with his current club, Daily Star reports.
The 24-year-old emerged as a top transfer target for the current Premier League champions ahead of the January window given their huge decline in form.
Apart from the Blues, Manchester City have also been linked with a move for the forward as they look to add more firepower into their attack.
However, Griezmann has come out to play down speculation of any sort of exit after revealing that he is very happy with his life in Madrid at the moment.
“I do not feel the need to play in Ligue 1, nor in the Premier League or in Serie A,” he said.
“I am in Spain – I’m happy. Life here, football, I like it all.”
The France international has been on top for form the La Liga side this term, so far scoring 11 goals in all competitions this season.
He is also expected to feature against Benfica in the Champions League tonight despite already qualifying into the latter stages, with only a point needed from the match to ensure top spot.
