Chelsea star Diego Costa has been charged by the FA for improper conduct when he refused to leave the field after being given a second yellow during the match against Everton, Skysports reports.
The 27-year-old could face even more problems after he made a gesture towards Everton fans when walking off the pitch.
He now has until 6pm Thursday to fight the charge, but has already been given an automatic one-match ban for the sending off.
Costa could now be given a further two-match ban to add to his current one as he is now facing his third three-match ban following two previous incidents.
His sending off came when the striker reacted to a tackle made by Toffees midfielder Gareth Barry and was even accused of biting him on the neck.
However, Barry later confirmed that the Spain international didn’t bite him, a revelation that looks to have saved Costa from a lengthy ban.
