Chelsea have been boosted after Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta revealed that they will not be signing Oscar this summer, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 23-year-old emerged as a target for the Serie A champions amid rumours that they were set to lose a number of midfield stars this summer.
He was eyed as a potential replacement to Arturo Vidal, who earlier completed a switch to Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich.
Apart from the Brazil international, Juventus were also considering a move to sign Real Madrid star Isco, but Marotta has now dismissed the chance of acquiring the services of either players.
“[Paulo] Dybala could play as a trequartista. Isco and Oscar are two players who aren’t extraordinary, but they would add to Juventus,” he said.
“Unfortunately they aren’t ours and we will never sign them.”
Oscar was earlier tipped for a Stamford Bridge departure as manager Jose Mourinho plans to use the midfielder as a bargaining chip to sign Paul Pogba.
He featured regularly for his side throughout the previous campaign, making a total of 41 appearances in all competitions, scoring seven goals while providing a further nine assists.
