Chelsea boosted by PSG’s injury crisis

Chelsea have been given a boost ahead of their Champions League clash with Paris St Germain this week, with the French giants set to be without four key players due to injuries, reports the Daily Mirror.

The French champions saw Yohan Cabaye and forward Lucas Moura leave the field injured on Saturday, as Laurent Blanc’s side threw away a two goal lead to draw with Caen.

Central defender Marquinhos was withdrawn at half time with a thigh problem, whilst problems were compounded when full back Serge Aurier was stretchered off with just ten minutes to play.

That injury left the reigning Ligue 1 champions with just ten men, and they paid the price as Caen levelled the game, and gave Lyon the chance to move four points clear at the top of the table with a victory today.

PSG are set to take on Chelsea in the first leg of the last 16 on Tuesday night, in a rematch of the quarter final clash last season.

Chelsea edged that tie on away goals last term, and will be looking for a more comfortable victory this time around.

David Luiz is also set to come up against his old club for the first time since his £50million transfer in the summer.
