Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he will not look to replace Cesar Azpilicueta following the imminent departure of Filipe Luis, according to reports from the Express.
The 25-year-old has limited Luis to very little playing time last season as the Brazilian left-back is now set to undergo a medical to complete his return to Atletico Madrid.
He only join the Blues last summer, but was unable to overtake Azpilicueta to the role, with his exit now prompting Mourinho to consider the signing of another full-back.
Augsburg star Abdul Baba Rahman is now heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge as the Premier League champions are preparing to table a £15million bid for his services.
When asked about the potential arrival of the Ghana international, Mourinho praised his current defensive star, hinting that he is not likely to be replaced this summer.
“We sold Filipe. We have the best left-back in England – Azpilicueta,” he said.
The Spanish international started a total of 29 league matches for his team last term, while Luis was only limited to nine starts.
