Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that he is interested in signing Paul Pogba, but thinks prying the star away from Juventus would be very difficult.
The France international has been a key member in the Bianconeri’s domestic dominance in Italy over recent years and is widely acknowledged as one of the most promising players in world football.
Although the likes of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with a move for the Juve star, the Blues could well be ready to enter the battle for the midfielder’s signature.
Chelsea boss Mourinho has stated that he would love Pogba in his team but isn’t holding his breath for it to become reality.
“I think everybody has an interest in Pogba,” The Daily Mail quote the Portuguese as saying.
“But there are things you can do and things you cannot do. I love the Eiffel Tower but I can’t have the Eiffel Tower in my garden. I can’t even have the Eiffel Tower of Las Vegas.
“We feel we have the tools to improve our team without that. And the tools are ourselves.”
Chelsea already have arguably the strongest central midfield in English football, with Nemanja Matic and Cesc Fabregas firing the club to a domestic double last term – throwing Pogba into the mix as well would be frightening.
