Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has revealed that he is open to letting Filipe Luis leave the club in favour of a return to his former side Atletico Madrid, Express reports.
The 29-year-old only completed a £15.8million move from the Spanish giants last summer, but has been struggling to hold down a regular role in the squad.
Luis has found it very hard to overtake first choice left-back Cesar Azpilicueta over the course of last season despite being a key member for Atletico’s La Liga winning squad back in the 2013-2014 campaign.
He has been linked with a return to Spain ever since the January window, but later dismissed rumours that he was ready to leave Stamford Bridge.
However, Mourinho has come out to admit that if the La Liga outfits were to make a move, he will be open to negotiations over his potential departure.
“If Atletico Madrid want him back then they have to pay and we have to discuss the offer,” he said.
“If he leaves then we have to react and we have to go in the market [and find a replacement].”
The Brazil international only made nine Premier League starts this past season and was used as a substitute a further six times.
