Chelsea have confirmed the signing of Ausburg star Abdul Baba Rahman in an estimated £21.7million deal, according to reports from the Express.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after the Blues offloaded Filipe Luis, who failed to settle after one year with the club and returned to Atletico Madrid.
Rahman underwent and passed his medical last week and has reportedly agreed to join the Premier League champions on a five-year deal, and the left-back is absolutely delighted with the switch.
“I am very happy to sign for Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in the world,” he said.
The Ghana international has also revealed his excitement to work under Jose Mourinho, despite the Chelsea manager currently embroiled in a media storm surrounding his anger at the medical staff.
He added: “I can’t wait to train with my new team-mates and very much looking forward to working with them and Mr (Jose) Mourinho.”
The Blues got off to a bad start in the English top flight, drawing Swansea City 2-2 in their first fixture and were well beaten 3-0 by last year’s runners up Manchester City on Sunday.
