Chelsea have announced that assistant manager Ray Wilkins has left the club with immediate effect after his Stamford Bridge contract was not renewed.
The 54-year-old made nearly 200 appearances during six years with the club during the 1970s, before going on to enjoy success with the likes of Manchester United, AC Milan and QPR, as well as winning 84 England caps.
A short statement from the Blues read: "Chelsea Football Club chief executive Ron Gourlay has announced that the board has decided not to renew Ray Wilkins' contract. This will take effect immediately."
Gourlay added: "On behalf of everyone at the club I would like to thank Ray for everything he has done for Chelsea Football Club. We all wish him well for the future."
