Chelsea are considering the idea of terminating their loan deal for Alexandre Pato despite the player only joining in the January window, according to Lance.
The 26-year-old is on loan until the end of the campaign, with the Blues also being given an option of making the move permanent.
He is yet to make a single appearance for the club since his arrival after struggling to regain his match fitness, a factor that is putting his future at Stamford Bridge in serious doubt.
It is now believed that interim manager Guus Hiddink may let the forward leave as he is taking too long to get himself ready despite being put on an intensive training program.
Pato may not have enough time to impress the board as there are only nine Premier League matches left before his deal comes to an end.
Hiddink admitted earlier last month that the former AC Milan star was almost ready to be call up, but is not likely to be able feature for the full 90 minutes.
