Chelsea have confirmed that they are currently scouting Manchester United target Daley Sinkgraven, whose recent performances have alerted the Premier League duo, Express reports.
The 19-year-old Heerenveen midfielder has attracted the interest of Louis van Gaal, but he may face competition for his signature after Jose Mourinho’s scout Piet de Visser admitted that he was keeping a close eye on the Dutch starlet.
“On Daley Sinkgraven, I find it very difficult to say anything because I’ve agreed with Chelsea that I will not speak about the talents that are on our list.”
“I follow him and that goes beyond watching a game from time to time.”
However, the two clubs may need to wait on his development after Sinkgraven revealed that he would prefer a move to Dutch giants Ajax before deciding to move to another country.
“I see it is a compliment that such big clubs are interested.
“I would first prefer to play at the top of the Netherlands. I think it is too soon to move to a foreign country. Ajax would be a nice step.”
The Dutch starlet made 18 appearances in the Eredivisie scoring three goals and providing another two while his manager will be keen on keeping hold of him.
It is likely that he will not be leaving in the January window, but the club will have to prepare for offers during the summer as Ajax could be joined by United and the Blues in chase of the winger.
