Chelsea are considering making a move to sign Steve Mandanda this summer, according to reports in the Guardian.
Asmir Begovic is likely to leave Chelsea this summer, after becoming increasingly frustrated about his position as the back up goalkeeper to Thibaut Courtois last season and Mandanda is being considered as a replacement for the Bosnian.
Currently at the European Championships as the under study to Hugo Lloris for France, Mandanda is one of the best keepers in France and would fit Chelsea’s bill as an experienced alternative to Thibaut Courtois as they look to find an adequate replacement to Begovic.
Crystal Palace have also looked into the possibility of acquiring Steve Mandanda this summer. The Frenchman’s contract expires at the end of June and would be available on a free transfer for any club around the world but he has previously spoken of his interest in a move to the Premier League.
