Chelsea are considering the opportunity to sign Manchester United star Victor Valdes during the January window, according to CalcioMercato, as reported by the Express.
The 33-year-old join on a free transfer during the previous winter window after being released by Barcelona, but has not been given a regular place in the squad under manager Louis van Gaal.
He is not expected to play a part this season as he is currently behind David De Gea, Sergio Romero, and Sam Johnstone in the pecking order.
The Blues are now monitoring his situation as they are in need of another backup keeper after Thibaut Courtois has been ruled out with a serious knee injury.
Asmir Begovic is set to fill the void during his absence, but reserve ace Jamal Blackman is the only other player available for selection.
Valdes has played a very small role since his arrival at Old Trafford, making only two appearances for the senior side as he is likely to be on his way out of the club.
