Chelsea have entered the race in their efforts to sign Barcelona and Real Madrid target Ruben Neves from Porto, according to reports from the Express.
The 18-year-old has emerged as a possible January target for manager Jose Mourinho who has been struggling to get the best out of his current squad.
Neves rose through the youth ranks at the Portuguese side and has now earned himself a regular place in the squad for Porto boss Julen Lopetegui, featuring 37 times in all comeptitions last term.
Mourinho has already suffered three loses since the start of the campaign and could raid his former side during the January window for the services of Neves.
His side are currently sitting in 17th place following loses to Manchester City, Crystal Palace, and most recently Everton.
The Blues were hoping to complete a deal for midfield star Paul Pogba during the previous window, but after missing out on his services, the Porto man could serve as a possible alternative.
