Chelsea have joined the race to sign Kenedy, with the Brazilian wonderkid already a subject of an earlier bid from Manchester United, according to reports from the Metro.
The 19-year-old is being tracked by clubs from all over Europe and his representatives have now revealed that the Blues are amongst the interested parties.
United already tabled a £5.7million bid to Fluminense, but it seems that the large number of potential suitors have urged the club to increase their asking price.
His representative, Eduardo Valdes, insisted that the Brazilian club is likely to be open to negotiations if they receive an offer around the region of £9.2million.
Valdes also confirmed interest from Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, however, he revealed that the Blues are yet to make a formal offer.
“There was contact with Chelsea recently,” he said.
“It was through Deco, who is now his agent. It was an approach, not a formal offer though.
“Half of Europe is following him.”
Kenedy’s style of play has now caused him to labelled as the ‘new Neymar’, and it very likely that he will complete a move to Europe in the summer.
