Chelsea ‘keeper set for exit talks

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has confirmed that he is set to discuss his future at Stamford Bridge in the near future, as reported by the Evening Standard.

Courtois is enjoying a third season long loan spell in three years at Atletico Madrid and the Spanish title challengers want to snap up the Belgian stopper on a permanent basis this summer.

Chelsea rate Courtois highly but are content to stick with Petr Cech as their number one and don’t want to stifle his long term replacements progress by keeping him on the bench.

Courtois clearly wants some clarity on his future and the chance to join Atletico on a permanent basis is in his mind unless Chelsea commit to him in the near future .

“It depends on Chelsea and what they ask. First, my agent is talking to Chelsea, to ask if I could talk to other clubs. Then we’ll know a bit more,” Courtois said.

“Atletico will wait for what Chelsea has to say.

“First, we want to hear from Chelsea what they are going to do and then we’ll see.”
