Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he will return to management this summer amid interest from Manchester United, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Mourinho is undoubtedly one of the best managers still available in the game today, helping Chelsea to the Premier League title for the third time in his career just last season.
However, after a disastrous start to the current campaign, the champions believed they had no choice but to sack ‘the Special One’, with the club then just hovering a few points above the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Man United have also struggled this term, failing to make an impact on the title race while also looking likely to miss out on Champions League football next season.
The Red Devils have thus heavily considered bringing in Mourinho to replace Louis van Gaal in the summer, with an agreement reportedly already in place.
And the Portuguese has recently come out to confirm that he will definitely return to management, but didn’t reveal where it would be.
He said on Sky Sports: “I have made this exception to speak with you (the media) because I didn’t speak for a long time, but I am going back to the same position. The only thing I can say is I don’t have a contract with any club but in the summer I will be back.
“I would prefer (to stay England). I love the country, the football here, my family is very stable and happy.”
