Chelsea have identified Didier Drogba’s international team-mate Seydou Doumbia as the outgoing man’s potential replacement, according to The Daily Mail.
The west London club are in the market for a new striker after the Champions League winning hero announced his departure from Stamford Bridge, with an overhaul of the club’s squad expected this summer.
Fellow Ivory Coast international Doumbia plays for Russian Premier League side CSKA Moscow and has an excellent goal-scoring record throughout his career.
The African predator is valued at around £24 million, and caught the eye by scoring five goals in the Champions League for the eastern European side last term.
Doumbia is the latest in a long list of potential new strikers at Chelsea, with Hulk, Gonzalo Higuain and Radamel Falcao also rumoured to be in the European champions’ cross-hairs.
