Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin is a target for Chelsea, that is according to reports in the Metro.
The Englishman has been one of the few highlights for QPR during the current Premier League campaign, with the striker notching 17 goals in 31 appearances in the top flight of English football – although he did miss a penalty in yesterday’s 0-0 draw with West Ham.
Relegation is a real possibility for Chris Ramsey’s side this term, with QPR sitting second bottom and four points adrift of Leicester City in 17th place.
If QPR do return to the Championship, Austin won’t be short of admirers and apparently Jose Mourinho is considering bringing the striker to Stamford Bridge.
Mourinho currently has Diego Costa, Didier Drogba and Loic Remy as his striking options, however, despite Costa’s goalscoring exploits, the former Atletico Madrid striker is injury prone. Furthermore, Drogba isn’t getting any younger and Remy, although reliable, Mourinho clearly wants more options in the final third.
