A video featuring Chelsea manager José Mourinho criticizing his strikers has been leaked ahead of his team’s Champions League clash against Galatasary, the Daily Mail reports.
The Portuguese manager arrived in Istanbul furious that his private comments to Swiss watch company Hublot was filmed and broadcast on French TV.
The video showed Mourinho undermining his strikers, joking about Samuel Eto’o’s real age, and that a possible solution is to purchase Radamel Falcao from Monaco.
“The problem with Chelsea is I lack a scorer,” Mourinho said. “I have Eto’o but he is 32 years old, maybe 35, who knows?”
He then discussed his view on Falcao.
“I need a striker. Falcao needs a club. A player like him cannot play in front of 3,000 people. Monaco is a club to end (your career with).”
This comes as a massive interference in the Blue’s preparation for Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 first leg clash against Galatasaray, especially to their ‘under-performing’ strikers.
The clip was recorded by French broadcasters Canel+ in Switzerland, which then appeared on their website. It has since been removed, but not after the message was circulated to the public.
It gives a sour note to Chelsea’s reunion with striking legend Didier Drogba, who left Stamford Bridge in 2012 after their Champions League success.
