Juventus have identified Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic as a transfer target, should Paul Pogba leave this summer.
That’s according to Goal.com, who reported the Serie A champions will move in if Pogba does indeed depart. The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a record breaking exit throughout the transfer window.
Juve are hoping that the recent addition of N’Golo Kante from Premier League winners Leicester City will help sway Matic to depart, despite new boss Antonio Conte saying he is keen to keep the Serbian.
Matic had one of the most notable drop in form from the Chelsea squad last season during a mainly disastrous season. He played in 33 league games, but his position was threatened by John Obi Mikel.
And despite having a fantastic season the year before, helping the Blues win the league, Juve are optimistic they can persuade Matic to leave Stamford Bridge, just two years after returning to London.
No deal will take place however unless Pogba does depart the Old Lady.
