Chelsea have been linked with a move for Malaga forward Salomon Rondon, and have sent scouts to watch the striker according to The Daily Mail.
The west London club are in the market for a new frontman after Didier Drogba’s exit from Stamford Bridge, with Porto’s Hulk thought to be the side’s first choice.
However, Blues scouts were in attendance as Rondon played for Venezuela took on Chile at the weekend, and the Premier League club are now thought to be weighing up a transfer bid.
The 22-year-old striker is burly and is thought to have the physical attributes to excel in the Premier League, and Arsenal and Newcastle have also been credited with an interest in the South American also.
After 25 goals in two seasons for the Andalusian side Malaga rate Rondon at around the £20 million mark, and as such he would represent a more cost-effective alternative to signing Hulk.
