Chelsea outcast to decide future at the end of the season

Chelsea outcast Ashley Cole will wait until the end of the season before deciding on his future, according to the Daily Mail.

The veteran full back has found first team football hard to come by this season under Jose Mourinho, having lost his first team place to Cesar Azpilicueta.

Never-the-less, Mourinho has indicated Cole will be offered a twelve month extension on his current deal, despite a lack of playing time this season.

Cole will not be short of options come the end of the season however, and wants to bide his time before making a decision.

The Blues have made signing a new left back a priority for the summer, and have registered an interest in Southampton’s 18-year-old star Luke Shaw.

Shaw was a Chelsea fan as a boy and is thought to favour a move to Chelsea over Manchester United, who are also interested.

The arrival of Shaw would see Cole’s game time at Stamford Bridge further restricted, meaning the 33-year-old must decide whether to continue in a bit part role, or go in search of a club that can offer regular first team football.
