Chelsea are targeting Man United and Arsenal target Tyrone Mings as a possible successor to club legend John Terry, Mirror reports.
The Ipswitch Town star has been playing left-back for the majority of the season but Mourinho has sent out scouts to observe his style of play.
At 6 feet and 3 inches in height, Mourinho believes Mings is too tall for a fullback as well as having all the attributes to play in the centre of defence.
The 21-year-old had a breakthrough season this year and a move to Chelsea will be a huge step forward for the youngster, however the Blues have to be quick as Mings is one of English football’s best talents, also interesting the likes of Everton as well as Newcastle United.
The Blues are hot in the hunt for a centre-back and if their moves for Real Madrid’s Rafael Varane or Barcelona’s Pique do not come to fruition, then Chelsea are set to submit a former bid to sign the talented youngster.
