Chelsea are preparing a £40million January double raid for Leicester City hotshot Jamie Vardy and Tottenham Hotspur star Moussa Dembele, according to reports from the Mirror.
The Blues are looking to turn their season around following a disastrous start to the campaign, in which the champions sit 15th on the Premier League table.
And club owner Roman Abramovich is hoping to do that by reinvigorating the squad with some new signings, with the Spurs midfielder and Leicester striker high on his wishlist.
Dembele has had an outstanding term so far with the Lilywhites, who have not lost a league game since their opening day defeat to Manchester United.
Manager Jose Mourinho will get a closer look at him when Spurs host Chelsea at White Hart Lane this Sunday, and another good performance could persuade him to make a January bid.
Meanwhile, Vardy is the league’s current top scorer, and with Mourinho keen on providing Diego Costa with some much needed competition, the former Real Madrid boss will have the England international in his sights during the transfer window as well.
