Chelsea are set to hold emergency talks in regards to the possible sacking of manager Jose Mourinho, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Mourinho has come under intense scrutiny after a poor season for the Blues, with the team only one point from the relegation zone despite finishing as English champions the previous term.
And following their ninth defeat of the campaign to Leicester City on Monday, club owner Roman Abramovich is prepared to discuss Mourinho’s future with the management board.
However, if the vote calls for the sacking of the Portuguese boss, Chelsea must pay Mourinho a staggering £40million to buy out his four-year £250,000-a-week deal which was only signed in the summer.
‘The Special One’ has already been sacked by Abramovich in his previous tenure, with Mourinho receiving £16million back in 2007.
The Blues will host relegation-battlers Sunderland in their next Premier League fixture in what could be Mourinho’s final game.
