Chelsea are now through into the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating a young Manchester City squad 5-1 at Stamford Bridge, Skysport reports.
Blues boss Guus Hiddink fielded a very strong side against their opponents, with goals coming from Diego Costa, Willian, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard, and Bertrand Traore.
City managed to grab one goal courtesy of a strike from David Faupala, but was unable to add any more as manager Manuel Pellegrini saw his side get eliminated from the competition.
Pellegrini has now suffered three consecutive losses in a row, but he decided to rest a number of key players as his team will face Dynamo Kiev this week in the Champions League.
Hiddink however, already featured in Europe last week as they suffered a 2-1 first leg defeat to Paris Saint-Germain.
In the upcoming round of fixtures, the Blues will face Southampton in the league while City will go up against Kiev before taking on Liverpool in the League Cup final.
