Chelsea are looking to beat Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign West Bromwich Albion star Saido Berahino, Express reports.
The 22-year-old was heavily linked with an exit from the Hawthorns ever since the summer after putting in a transfer request to push his departure.
Despite being denied a move, Berahino is still trying to force his way out and has been dropped to the bench over his actions off the field.
He has only managed to start eight Premier League matches while featuring from the bench another seven times this term, scoring three goals in the process.
Blues boss Guss Hiddink recently revealed his intentions to sign another striker as he is very short of options in attack.
Diego Costa is the only available forward given that Loic Remy is yet to return to full fitness following an ankle injury while Radamel Falcao is still out with a thigh problem.
Apart from the West Brom star, Hiddink has also set his sights on £30million rated AC Milan star Carlos Bacca as another possible candidate.
