Chelsea are considering a January move to sign Roma star Kostas Manolas after failing to acquire his services on deadline day, according to reports from the Express.
The 24-year-old was a summer alternative for top target John Stones from Everton, but the Blues saw their attempts rejected by the Serie A giants.
After spending much of the previous window trying to sign the Toffees star, manager Jose Mourinho eventually signed Nantes centre-back Papy Djilobodji.
The current Premier League champions have been struggling to find form since the start of the campaign, losing three out of their first six matches.
However, Manolas earlier revealed that he has heard about interest from Chelsea, but admitted to wanting to win something with Roma, especially with five years left on his deal.
“Chelsea? I can say that, I have another five-year contract, I’m happy to be here [Roma] and I want to win something with this shirt,” he said.
The Greek international featured a total of 41 times in all competitions for his side and is already an established member of the squad.
