Chelsea ready to release forgotten man… just seven weeks after signing him

According to reports from The Metro, Chelsea could terminate Alexandre Pato’s loan deal just seven weeks after his arrival at Stamford Bridge.

The Brazil international, best famed for his prodigious spell at AC Milan where he was regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in world football, moved to west London on loan from Corinthians during the January transfer window amid injuries to fellow frontmen Loic Remy and Radamel Falcao.

But the 26-year-old is yet to feature in any competition for the Blues due to a lack of match fitness, having not played competitively since the Brazilian season ended in December 2015.

According to The Metro, who cite Brazilian source Lance, Chelsea are unimpressed with how long it’s taken the 5 foot 11 fitness to regain his fitness and the lack of commitment he’s shown on the training pitch.

Consequentially, they could decide to terminate his loan spell in the Premier League without making a single appearance for the reigning Champions.
