Chelsea are set to consider a move for another striker this January to provide competition for Diego Costa, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
Blues manager Jose Mourinho was involved in a public spat with the Spain international during their 4-0 victory over Maccabi Tel-Aviv on Tuesday, but despite this ‘the Special One’ is fully backing Costa for the remainder of the campaign.
However, the board are adamant that Costa needs a bit more competition for a place in the starting line-up, with Radamel Falcao and Loic Remy failing to perform when given their chances.
Chelsea have been linked with several high profile attackers such as Antoine Griezmann, but it seems they have to wait until the end of the season to make a concrete move.
They could therefore turn to the likes of Saido Berahino this January, with the 22-year-old already pushing for a move away from the Hawthornes.
The Blues will travel to face an in-form Tottenham Hotspur side at White Hart Lane in their next Premier League fixture on Sunday.
