Rooney handed in a transfer request at Old Trafford towards the end of last season but then manager Sir Alex Ferguson ruled out the chances of him leaving the champions and new boss David Moyes is set to sit down with the former Everton striker this week to come to an agreement.
If a deal cannot be made between Rooney and Moyes, who have history of bad feeling from their times at Goodison Park, Chelsea and Arsenal will be at the front of the queue for his signature.
