Chelsea are set to begin talks with Borussia Dortmund over the transfer of Marco Reus, Express reports.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Westfalenstadion recently with Reus rejecting a new contract from Dortmund.
With a £20million buy-out clause set to be activated in the summer, several clubs have been alerted to his availability including the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, and Liverpool.
However Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is keen to bring the 25-year-old to Stamford Bridge and has started by asking Blues representatives to get in contact with Reus’ agents.
European powerhouses Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in the former Borussia Mönchengladbach star, and may make a bid significantly higher than his £20million release clause to sign him earlier this January.
Mourinho is therefore hoping to use Andre Schurrle as a possible makeweight in the deal, with Dortmund already targeting the German as a potential replacement.
