Chelsea are looking to Laurent Blanc to take the reins at Stamford Bridge, according to the Daily Mail.

The current French international coach is out of contract after the European Championships in the summer and it appears that Chelsea are one of many clubs set to be courting his services at the end of the tournament.

Blanc's stock as a manager is certainy rising and having led Bordeaux to a league the Ligue 1 title, he was appointed French manager where he has remained unbeaten in his last 18 matches, including a recent win against Germany, and has restored pride in the national team again, after the debacle at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The former United defender has previously expressed a desire to manage in the Premier League one day and Chelsea would certainly represent an attractive proposition. It is reported that Roman Abramovich is prepared to pay in the region of £9m a year to secure his services in the summer; an offer Blanc might find too hard to resist.
