Chelsea are preparing to make a formal move for Manchester United target Juan Cuadrado by offering Fiorentina £26.8million in order to lure him to Stamford Bridge, Daily Star reports.
The 26-year-old was very impressive for Colombia at the World Cup and was on top of Louis van Gaal’s right back targets during the summer, but despite negotiations taking place, the potential deal eventually fell through.
Jose Mourinho, who is said to be a huge fan of the versatile wing back, is prepared to meet Fiorentina’s set release clause and will try to make the move happen despite Cuadrado only recently signing a new five-year deal.
The Blues boss is also trying to free up some financial room for the proposed transfer by attempting to sell midfield pair Mohamed Salah and Andre Schurrle.
Schurrle is said to a transfer target for Bundesliga pair Borussia Dortmund and Wolfsburg with the latter team already believed to have tabled an offer to sign the German World Cup winner.
