Chelsea star Eden Hazard has been criticised by Belgium boss Marc Wilmots for his performance in the 1-0 Euro 2016 qualifier victory over Cyprus, Daily Mail reports.
The 24-year-old has also struggled to find form on domestic level as he is yet to score his first Premier League goal of the new campaign.
Wilmots labelled the winger as the worst performer of the night and even thought about taking him off before he netted the winner.
“He (Hazard) was the worst tonight,” he said.
“I thought about substituting him, but in the last 10 minutes he always has the ability to do that. At the World Cup, this was the case.
“I obviously expect more from him, but he will grow as the season progresses.”
Hazard got on the receiving end of a cross from Napoli star Dries Mertens to put the ball in the back of the net as Belgium trail first place Wales by only a point.
Apart from the Blues attacker, Liverpool striker Christian Benteke was also criticised for his displays and was eventually taken out after 45 minutes.
The Belgium boss revealed that Benteke played only half of what he was capable of, forcing him to bring on his club teammate Divock Origi.
