Chelsea star Cesar Azpilicueta has claimed that Eden Hazard is like a new signing following his recent return to form, according to reports from the London Evening Standard.
Hazard has been heavily criticized for his performances this season, with the Blues attacking midfielder having a poor campaign for the Stamford Bridge club.
This is a drastic contrast to last term, in which the Belgium international helped Chelsea to the Premier League title while also winning the PFA Player of the Year accolade.
However, Hazard bagged his first goal of the campaign against MK Dons in the FA Cup fourth round, and added to that tally with a magnificent free-kick against Manchester City, also in the FA Cup, this past weekend.
And Azpilicueta believes that Hazard is almost like a new signing, especially with a second leg clash against Paris Saint-Germain on the horizon where they have to turn around a 2-1 deficit at home.
He said: “Playing like this, Eden is like a new signing for us. Eden is a big player and we need him.
“We are a much stronger squad if we have Eden playing at his best and have a better chance to get good results.
“It is better to have Eden in his best form now than at the start of the season. It is at the end of a season when you are playing for trophies and we will try to win the two we are in.”
Hazard, 25, has made 34 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring two goals and supplying seven assists.
