Chelsea star Branislav Ivanovic could potentially sign a pre-contract deal that would see him join Inter Milan next summer, according to reports from the Mirror.
Ivanovic was voted in the PFA Team of the Year last season for his performances in the Blues’ title-winning campaign, but the defender has failed to replicate his good form into the new season.
The Serbia international has been one of the scapegoats for Chelsea’s disastrous term, and has been subsequently dropped in their last four league games.
At the age of 31, Ivanovic’s contract will run out at the end of the season and with his lack of playing time at Stamford Bridge, he could be tempted to sign a pre-contract agreement with Serie A giants Inter in January.
However, Ivanovic’s agent Zoran Krneta believes that his client will stay with the champions, despite hinting at the possibility of an exit.
He said: “It’s quite possible that he will renew his contract with Chelsea. The rumours about Inter? In football anything it is possible.”
Last season, Ivanovic made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring six goals.
