Chelsea star Diego Costa could still face a ban following his actions that led up to Arsenal defender Gabriel being sent off, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old was given a yellow card in the final minutes of the first half for a clash with both Laurent Koscielny and Gabriel.
However, a few seconds later, he was on the receiving end of a cheeky kick from Gabriel after Costa looks to have provoked the Brazil international.
The kick eventually saw him get sent off with a straight red despite picking up a yellow card a few moments before, meaning he is in line to receive a three-game suspension for his actions, frustrating Gunners boss Arsene Wenger.
Costa could now also face punishment pending an investigation from the FA for swinging his arm into Koscielny as well as grabbing Gabriel on the neck, an incident that looks to have sparked the entire saga.
The Blues eventually picked up all three points after beating their league rivals 2-0, with Wenger’s side forced to play with only nine men for a little over 10 minutes after Santi Cazorla picked up his second yellow late in the second half.
