Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Chelsea ace Petr Cech will be the club’s number one goalkeeper if he joins this summer, according to reports from the Mirror.
Cech has been heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after a season playing second-fiddle to Thibaut Courtois in goal.
The Czech Republic international previously revealed he hopes to stay in London, making Arsenal his preferred destination.
However, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho was reluctant to let one of the league’s best goalkeepers join a rival club, but that issue seems to have been resolved.
During discussions, Cech wanted a guarantee that he would be the club’s number-one shot-stopper, and Wenger has agreed to those demands.
This is therefore set to force Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina, who is being linked to Fenerbahce, out of the Emirates after just one season to make room for the 33-year-old.
