Chelsea star Nemanja Matic has revealed that the entire squad is feeling sad following their 3-1 defeat to Everton at the weekend, according to reports from the Daily Mail.
The 27-year-old scored the only goal for his side, but was still unable to help his team get out of their recent decline in performance.
Steven Naismith bagged a hat-trick for his club, dealing a huge blow to the current Premier League champions as a win for Newcastle United tonight could see them dropped into 17th place.
Matic admitted that everyone is feeling bad as they are currently going through a difficult period in their pursuit to defender the title.
“Of course we are not happy,” he said.
“Everybody is sad because of the result. Obviously we feel bad.
“We are in a difficult moment, and having four points after five games is not normal for our team.”
The Blues have only picked up one win from their previous five fixtures as they prepare to host Maccabi Tel Aviv in the Champions League on Wednesday before facing Arsenal at the weekend.
Manager Jose Mourinho is even said to have clashed with Toffees boss Roberto Martinez ahead of his post-match interview.
