Chelsea are ready to let Didier Drogba leave on a free transfer this summer despite his recent goalscoring form for the club, according to Mirror Football.
The veteran Ivory Coast international has bagged goals against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals and in the FA Cup final against Liverpool, but is out of contract at the end of the season.
Despite recent positive performances and the fact that Drogba is a fans favourite, the newspaper indicate that the African will not be offered a new deal, and free to find a new club.
Drogba wants a two-year extension at the Stamford Bridge club but the side were initially only prepared to offer him one extra year, but it appears that this option is out of the reckoning also.
Roman Abramovich is thought to want to build a team around Fernando Torres, and is looking to add young players to his ageing squad this summer.
The likes of Gonzalo Higuain, Hulk and Radamel Falaco have been rumoured to be potential successors for Drogba, as the west London outfit look to get into a position to challenge for the Premier League title once more.
Drogba has been linked with a move to China to join up with former team-mate Nicolas Anelka at big-spending Shanghai Shenhua.
